Our police department will always endeavor to maintain a trustworthy relationship with the community by involving its residents in crime education, prevention, and safety programs.
About the Police Department
The department serves the city of Progreso in Hidalgo County, Texas, with a population of approximately 5,979. As of January 2026, Police Chief Al Perez leads the department. The department has launched initiatives such as Operation Safe Streets to target individuals with outstanding felony warrants and continues to manage public safety through proactive patrols.
